Icelandic Trip

Melanie, Tracy, Michelle recently went to Iceland with Redken on one of their business seminars. Presentations were given by Mary Queen of shops, Mary Portas, Toby Dicker from the Chapel Hairdressing and world famous New York-based design consultant Peter Millard. Mary talked about the importance of customer service and how clients should be made to feel like when visiting your salon. Toby emphasised on the importance of salon branding and standing up for what you are all about as a hair salon. Peter reinvented space inside your salon and took us through the do’s and don’ts of salon design, he pointed out that through our most grievous mistakes we learn what is right and that the six evil things that salons can fall foul of and make clients feel uncomfortable should be elimanated.

The girls enjoyed Redkens hospitality in Rekjavik and swam in the Blue Lagoon, the famous geothermal hot pools of Iceland. Melanie said it was great to spend three days with important members of her team and network with other salon owners from all over the UK and Ireland. Michelle was very appreciative of such an opportunity to be invited to a unique place such as Iceland, the kind of place you want to go to but would probably never actually get there. The whole trip was fantastic I was educated, motivated and inspired. It was great to finally put Redken names to faces, have a little fun and network with some very interesting people.
